Uganda is probably the place you want to take your time for a road trip. For your Uganda itinerary, I recommend at least a week. I think 10 days in Uganda is a perfect amount. If you’re looking for a bit more of a budget trip and are comfortable driving on your own, you’re able to hire car with 4×4 Car Hire Uganda and drive yourself around. On a self-drive tour, you have the flexibility to choose what to do and when to do it and our itineraries help you decide the best route to take.
In Uganda you drive on the left-hand side and when you come to an intersection, you must give way to traffic from the right-hand side. Traveling on the roads can be quite risky, particularly outside of the main cities where livestock roam across the roads. You need to be aware of buses who can overtake at speed.
If a driver is involved in an accident, the driver must give full details to police and report the accident in person at the police station within 24 hours. The drive should also contact his insurer and take pictures of the scene of the accident and damage of the car such that he can claim for the excess fees that the rental company ask from the clients in this incident.
